Today would have been Eiji Tsuburaya's 109th birthday. I'm currently reading
August Ragone's wonderful book
Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters. I just started it a few days ago and I'm only about half way through it, but it's a very fun and educational read on the man who's ingenuity in the field of cinematography and special effects was the most important element of the Kaiju Eiga genre, and in large part sci-fi and fantasy as a whole.
Eiji Tsburaya, I salute you!
